Body

Patients at McDonald Army Health Center (MCAHC) are now reporting their experiences and satisfaction with their healthcare in a new survey. This outpatient survey program, launched by the Army on June 20, 2016 is called the Joint Outpatient Experience Survey, or JOES. This survey is standardized across all services, and will enable the Department of Health Affairs to get an accurate picture of the state of military healthcare.
Approximately 72 hours after an appointment, a patient will receive a survey to complete and should respond within a month by mail or electronically. The survey takes five minutes to complete. It will give healthcare providers and  McDonald leadership the feedback necessary to improve quality of care, patient experience and satisfaction. MCAHC takes all comments and ratings seriously, and the surveys will be confidential.
According to Dr. Melissa Gliner, the JOES program lead for the U.S. Army Medical Command, “Patient satisfaction is everyone's responsibility within Army Medicine. JOES provides direct feedback to MCAHC providers in order to improve the support and care provided to their patients.”
Providing feedback helps MCAHC foster a partnership between patients and their primary care managers that enables MCAHC to continually improve and achieve excellent healthcare and patient satisfaction. The transition from the current survey system to JOES will be complete by the end of August 2016.JOES.jpg
